An Introduction to
Web Marketing for farmers
A two class series
1st session - Tuesday April 4th from 12-4pm
2nd session - Tuesday April 30th from 12-4pm
Do you have a farm (or farm adjacent) business that you would like to market online? Whether that be to potential farmers' market customers, tour groups, or e-commerce sales, you can use web marketing to reach customers!
In depth topics covered in this class will be tailored to participants' goals but will include at least an overview of the following:
Targeting your ideal customers
Social media (instagram, facebook and twitter)
Website creation and maintenance
SEO (Search Engine Optimization)
Review websites like yelp, google and trip advisor
Paid advertising on the web
Email mailing lists
When to outsource marketing and when to DIY
Workflows, apps and tips for streamlined marketing when you are busy farming!
The types of businesses that will be best served by this course sell directly to consumers - either through the farmers market, agro-tourism or e-commerce. The topics in this class will be applicable to non-farm businesses as well, but we are limiting sign-ups to farmers and businesses that support farmers (like chefs, or value-added businesses).
This class will be helpful for everyone from complete beginners to business owners who have a web presence but would like to improve.
This class will be $50 for all Farm Bureau members and $150 for non members.*
Participants will recieve a packet of materials covering all of the class topics, as well as homework exercises and tailored feedback for each business.
Drinks and snacks will be provided.
All participants need to sign up in advance and fill out the accompanying survey. Parcipants should bring themselves and a laptop or tablet for hands-on help.

*Note - Farm Bureau Membership is only $96 a year, so participants can sign up for a membership and recieve the reduced class fee and the membership for cheaper than the non-member price.
After signing up and completing the pre-class survey, you will be emailed a link to pre-pay for the course.
As a note, this class will not be held unless we get at least 10 participants. In case of not enough sign ups, we will reschedule and/or refund the class fee.
